Why you should invest in albums and prints after your session?

Do you remember flipping through your family albums when you were a child? Sitting there, wondering what your parents looked like, how you looked like as a baby and as a child, reminiscing your childhood, be back in those days for a minute. I know I do! These are the albums that tells my parents’ story and the beginning of mine! I absolutely love going through these, they are family heirlooms! Investing in albums and prints to have your family memories right where you can see them everyday.

But these days we live in a digital world, and we all want those digital photos, and albums are turned down. And it kind of breaks my heart.

We all know photography products are expensive, and in a way hard to justify or fit into your budget when you’ve already paid for the photographer and the digitals. But these days, investing in albums and prints and other tangible products, is something you will never regret doing. Finding a good photographer that you connect with (because it’s much more than just smiling to the camera) is significant to get the images you’ve always dreamed of, and be proud and happy to display them in your home! It’s an investment for your memories, your life and your family’s!

So are they worth the investment?

1. Albums and prints: hold your memories in your hands

There’s something about the high quality feel, touch and smell of a freshly printed album. A book that is unique to you and to your family, something that you will always treasure.

After your session, you get all the digital images, you feel excited, happy to share them on social media and send it to your friends and family. But after a month or two, the excitement fades away, and your pictures start piling up under other pictures on your phone and your computer. How many times will you go through them, to look at them and share with your family? That number will go down over the years.

Printing your photos will give you a constant reminder of that certain point in your life. Memories that will throw you back to this chapter you were in when you took them. Having your photos printed and accessible and easy to reach gives a total different feeling than if you were to look at them on a computer screen, or worse, a phone screen.

There is something nice about showing your loved ones a piece of your story on a beautiful heirloom album. Imagine for a second that you displayed your album on the coffee table or on the bookshelf, and friends and family come over. I don’t know about you, but I love seeing pictures of my mom and dad when they were children, and feel this sense of wonder of what was life at that time! I love to see my parents and my family’s story, to just have a visual representation of where I come from!
