In my experience, women are usually feeling their best in the 7-8 month range. My sweet spot is between 28 and 32 weeks. Having your maternity session at this time will usually result in the most flattering photographs as your bump will be nice and round at this stage, but not so heavy that you feel overly tired and uncomfortable. It will also depend on how YOU are feeling, and if you’re a first time mom. If it’s your second child, you might show earlier than your first. Therefore, you might consider scheduling your maternity photos sooner, too!
When to book your maternity session?
I recommend that my clients book their maternity photo shoot as soon as they enter their second trimester. It will give you the best chance to choose your date and make sure I have availability, as we book months in advance. It’s also best not to leave it for the last minute. As your belly grows, the more things you are going to need to have ready before the arrival of your little one. Schedule your maternity session early, and let me take care of the rest!
